A new version of Mel Brooks' musical The Producers will tour the UK next year, opening in March 2015 at the Churchill Theatre Bromley.

The revival, which is produced by the Dance 'Til Dawn producers, will tour to cities including Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool and Glasgow, and is currently announced up until June 2015.

The Producers, which is based on Mel Brooks' movie of the same name, follows New York producer Max Bialystock and timid accountant Leo Bloom on their quest to pull off Broadway's greatest scam.

The show originally opened on Broadway in 2001 starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick, before transferring to the West End with Lane and Lee Evans in 2004. It features songs including "Springtime for Hitler", "We Can Do It" and "Keep It Gay".

Tickets for the production, casting for which is to be announced, go on general sale at 10am on 8 August.
