The Print Room announces autumn season

The autumn season at The Print Room at Coronet has been announced, and will include a revival of a Tennessee Williams play.

A Lovely Sunday For Creve Coeur runs from 12 September to 7 October. Directed by Michael Oakley, it tells the story of four women in 1930s St Louis who are struggling for a sense of identity and independence. .

Visual artist William Kentridge will present Paper Music, a cine-concert which will explore the relationship between sound and image. It will feature live musical performances from vocalists Ann Masina and Joanna Dudley, and pianist Vincenzo Pasquariello, and runs from 9 to 14 October.

Scherzo for Piano and Stick is a chamber piece devised and directed by Tage Larsen. The piece focuses on the body and intense physical movement, and runs from 17 to 20 October.

Jocelyn Pook’s Hearing Voices combines a testimony of her great aunt, who spent much of her life in an asylum struggling to make sense of the voices she heard, with that of four other women diagnosed with mental illness. Singer Melanie Pappenheim duets live with recordings of the women’s words, protests and laughter, and there is an accompanying art installation by Dragan Aleksic. It runs from 1 to 4 November.

The Print Room also makes its Shakespeare debut with The Tempest, directed by Simon Usher. Usher has previously directed The Dead Dogs and Ivy & Joan at the theatre, and the production will be fast-paced with a special emphasis on younger audiences. It will run from 21 November to 17 December.
