The Old Vic announces casting for A Christmas Carol’s tenth anniversary run

The Old Vic has announced the full cast for its tenth anniversary production of A Christmas Carol, directed by artistic director Matthew Warchus and adapted for the stage by Jack Thorne.

As already confirmed, Giles Terera will play Ebenezer Scrooge, joined by the newly revealed Carly Bawden as Belle, Ewan Black as Fred, Khalid Daley as Young Ebenezer, Geraint Downing as Ferdy/George, Edward Harrison as Father/Marley, Kirsty MacLaren as Little Fan, Aiesha Naomi as Ghost of Christmas Present/Mrs Fezziwig, Jack North as Bob Cratchit, Claire O’Leary as Jess, Alastair Parker as Fezziwig, Nuwan Hugh Perera as Nicholas/Schoolmaster, Gleanne Purcell-Brown as Mrs Cratchit, Hollie Jane Stephens as Swing/Dance Captain, Sam Stones as Swing and Annie Wensak as Ghost of Christmas Past.

The role of Tiny Tim will be shared by Imuujin Bayarsaikhan, Freddie Merritt, Veronica Aeryn Onu and Hannah Slater.

The production runs at the Old Vic from 10 November 2026 to 9 January 2027, with a press performance on 24 November.

The Old Vic has held charity collections during every season of A Christmas Carol since it first opened. Over the past nine years, the collections have raised more than £2.3m globally. This year’s collections will support FoodCycle, which provides free community meals made from food that would otherwise go to waste. The charity works to address loneliness, food waste and mental health while promoting healthy eating and sustainable living.
