The King and I to return to cinemas in 2019

The London production of The King and I is to be screened for the second time in cinemas.

The show, which ran in London at the Palladium in 2018, is due to reach screens courtesy of Trafalgar Releasing on 4 April this year.

The show originally streamed in UK cinemas in November 2018 and achieved the highest box office globally for a stage to screen event release of 2018.

Bartlett Sher's production opened on Broadway in 2015 before transferring to the London Palladium in June 2018. It starred Kelli O'Hara, Ken Watanabe and Ruthie Ann Miles. The production embarks on a tour in Manchester this April.

The musical features songs including "Whistle a Happy Tune", "Getting to Know
You" and "Shall We Dance".
