It has been announced that a stage adaptation of George and Weedon Grossmith's well-loved novel, The Diary of a Nobody, will take the stage at the King's Head Theatre in Islington from 29 July to 24 August this year.

This adaptation consists of four actors taking on 45 characters throughout the play, including self-confessed 'nobody' Charles Pooter, whose diary details the ups and downs of the normal day to day life of a really very normal man, his family and everyone else in between.

‘I left the room with silent dignity, but caught my foot in the mat’: perfectly encapsulating Pooter's character, celebrating small joys and frustrations simultaneously. Although you will find yourself laughing at his misfortune, behind the humour you might just see a side of him you can relate to because really, there's a little bit of Pooter in everyone.

Rough Haired Pointer have previous productions including an adaptation of Daisy Young's The Young Visitors and The Boy Who Cried. This adaptation of The Diary of a Nobody is adapted and directed by Mary Franklin and recently completed a sold out run at the White Bear Theatre. She holds the title of artistic director for Rough Haired Pointer and is also the resident director of the Hope Theatre.
