Ahead of the show’s opening at Trafalgar Studios, we discuss Alexi Kaye Campbell’s text, directed by Jamie Lloyd, with three of its stars
Ahead of their run at Trafalgar Studios, we sat down with Stockard Channing, Freema Agyeman and Laura Carmichael, stars of Alexi Kaye Campbell's Apologia, to discuss the show's themes and ideas.
Channing, who is known for her roles in The Good Wife, The West Wing and her role as Rizzo in the 1978 film Grease, will take the role of Kristin Miller, a matriarch of a family who is presiding over birthday celebrations.
Agyeman, who assumes the role of Claire, played Martha Jones alongside David Tennant in Doctor Who, as well as Amanita in the Netflix drama Sense8. Downton Abbey actress Carmichael will play Trudi.
The piece, which originally opened in 2008 at the Bush Theatre, will be directed by Jamie Lloyd and runs to 18 November. It follows Lloyd's acclaimed productions at Trafalgar Studios, including ''Richard III'', ''The Ruling Class'' and ''Macbeth''.
