The boys are back! With only a few days to go before this year’s record breaking pantomime Robin Hood opens, I was allowed to take a sneak peak at the technical rehearsals.

Sitting next to writer, director and producer Michael Harrison with Tuplele Dorgu and Chris Hayward a few seats away, Danny Adams and Clive Webb prepared for one of their famous slosh scenes. Without giving too much way the scene I was watching had all the ingredients required smoke, water, ladders, hoses and a fire engine.

After several “dry runs” it was time for the first “wet” one and while we waited for the water to be filled up the team tried out the pyrotechnics. I must admit these seemed louder than other years!

Soon we were ready for the “wet run” through and yes I can confirm slosh is back! Better still I was sitting in row F of the stalls and along with several of the cast I got wet. One thing seems certain, this year Sherwood Forest will become a rain forest if Danny And Clive have their way!

The show opens Tuesday 30 November.
