The Spanish production of Six has released its first single ahead of performances beginning at the Teatro Gran Vía in Madrid this September.
“Ex-Wives / Six” is available on digital platforms from today and features the Spanish cast of the musical performing in Spanish for the first time. The release is accompanied by an official music video.
The track combines songs from the musical including “Ex-Wives” and “Six”, adapted into Spanish for the Madrid production. Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the musical retells the stories of the six wives of Henry VIII in a concert-style format.
The production will play a limited season at the Teatro Gran Vía. It is produced by Julia Gómez Cora and Dmitry Bogachev in association with Kenny Wax, Wendy and Andy Barnes, and George Stiles, and in collaboration with Grupo Smedia.
The musical first premiered in 2017 and has since played in the West End and on Broadway. The show has won more than 35 awards internationally, including two Tony Awards, and has received a Grammy nomination for its cast recording.
The musical features set design by Emma Bailey, costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Tim Deiling, choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, orchestrations by Tom Curran and musical supervision by Joe Beighton. Jamie Armitage directs.
