Cush Jumbo and John Heffernan are also taking part in ”Figures of Speech”

The Almeida Theatre has announced the actors taking part in the latest series of its video series Figures of Speech.

The project features prominent actors performing famous and significant speeches from politicians, activists and philosophers throughout history. This series Russell Tovey, Noma Dumezweni, Derek Jacobi, John Heffernan and Cush Jumbo will all take part.

The series launched in May with Ian McKellen speaking a speech by Harvey Milk, Lucian Msamati performing Nelson Mandela's words and Fiona Shaw performing Virginia Woolf's writings.

The videos are hosted on the Almeida's micro site and features authored written pieces which explore the speeches as well as the speeches themselves. The films are directed by Anthony Almeida.
