Robert Icke directs Shakespeare’s tragedy

The West End cast joining Sadie Sink and Noah Jupe in Robert Icke’s revival of Romeo and Juliet has been revealed.
Headlined by Sink as Juliet and Jupe as Romeo, the company also includes Jamie Ankrah as Peter, Dylan Corbett-Bader as Benvolio, Eden Epstein as Lady Capulet, Alex Felton as Abraham, Clark Gregg as Capulet, Ada Grey in the ensemble, Kasper Hilton-Hille as Friar John/Mercutio, Aruna Jalloh as Tybalt, John Marquez as Friar Laurence, Clare Perkins as the Nurse, Lewis Shepherd as Paris, David Shelley doubling as the Apothecary/Montague, Caroline Moroney as the Second Servant, and Alexander Uzoka as Gregory.
The show will run at the Harold Pinter Theatre, directed by Icke, who returns to Shakespeare following his landmark stagings of Player Kings with Ian McKellen and Hamlet with Andrew Scott.
Joining Icke on the creative team are set and costume designer Hildegard Bechtler, lighting designer Jon Clark, sound designer Tom Gibbons and video designer Ash J. Woodward. Casting is by Julia Horan and Jim Carnahan, with voice work supported by Penny Dyer and Nick Trumble.
The production also includes fight direction from Kev McCurdy, with Jack Bradfield as associate director and Neetu Singh as assistant director.
The wider team features costume supervisor Sabia Smith, wigs, hair and make-up supervisors Campbell Young Associates, props supervisor Lily Mollgaard and production manager Kate West, alongside production drama therapist Wabriya King.
Produced by Empire Street Productions, the company’s recent work includes Elektra, Slave Play, and Prima Facie, which is touring the UK across 2026. As part of the run, the production will host The Star-Crossed Projects, a schools initiative with ATG Entertainment Creative Learning offering workshops, tickets and performance opportunities for Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
Performances begin on 16 March 2026 and run for 12 weeks until 6 June, with a press night scheduled for 31 March. A Pay What You Can Lottery and day seats are available, along with group and school rates.
