Suranne Jones & Jake Davies in Beautiful Thing
Last night we took over 110 theatregoers to see Jonathan Harvey‘s play Beautiful Thing at the Arts Theatre.
The play, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, is an urban love story between two young men set on an inner city housing estate. It centres on teenager Jamie’s relationship with classmate and neighbour Ste. Together the two boys find comedy, warmth and the music of Mama Cass through their loud-mouthed next door neighbour Leah.
The cast features: Suranne Jones (Sandra), Zaraah Abrahams (Leah), Oliver Farnworth (Tony), Jake Davies (Jamie), and Danny-Boy Hatchard, making his professional debut as Ste.
Directed by Nikolai Foster, it’s designed by Colin Richmond and produced by Tom O’Connell for QNQ Ltd.
After the performance we were joined by producer Tom O’Connell and the whole cast for a Q&A.
