Plays cast: Propeller's Comedy and Dream, Attenborough's Hampstead Godchild

Casting announced for Propeller‘s 2013-14 season which, as previously announced, comprises revivals of the all-male Shakespeare company's productions of The Comedy of Errors and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Joseph Chance and Dan Wheeler will play the twin Antipholus brothers in The Comedy of Errors, with Propeller debutants Matthew McPherson and Will Featherstone as their respective long-suffering twin servants, both called Dromio.

In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Propeller regular Chris Myles will play Bottom, James Tucker returns to the company as Titania, queen of the fairies, with Darrell Brockis as her king, Oberon.

The company, a number of whom will appear in both productions, also features: David Acton, Alasdair Craig, Dominic Gerrard, Lewis Hart, Matthew Pearson, Richard Pepper and Arthur Wilson.

Both productions are directed by Propeller’s artistic director Edward Hall and designed by Michael Pavelka, with lighting design by Ben Ormerod and sound by David Gregory. The texts are adapted by Edward Hall and Roger Warren.

The Comedy of Errors and A Midsummer Night’s Dream will tour from November to locations including Plymouth, Guildford, Bath, High Wycombe, Girona, Sheffield, Coventry, Nottingham, Salford, Canterbury, Cheltenham, Norwich, Newcastle, Marseille, Edinburgh, Craiova and Caracal.

Casting has also been announced for Michael Attenborough's production of Deborah Bruce's new play Godchild, which premieres at the Hampstead Theatre Downstairs from 31 October to 30 November 2013.

The play centres on a 'carefree' woman whose life is thrown into sharp perspective when her 19 year-old goddaughter moves in.

Joining Tracy-Ann Oberman (Old Money) in the central role are Pearl Chandra, Michael Shaeffer and Chook Sibtain.

The production is Attenborough's first freelance project since stepping down as artistic director of the Almeida Theatre.
