Open auditions have been announced for the upcoming UK tour of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, which opens in Manchester in August.

Producers are looking for the lead male role of Adam (Felicia) to join Jason Donovan and Duncan James, who are sharing the role of Tick on tour.

Auditions will take place on Thursday 18 June at Dragon Hall in Covent Garden (17 Stukeley Street, London, WC2B 5LT) at 10am.

Actors must have "excellent dance and vocal skills (strong rock tenor is essential) and muscular physique", and would have to sign a one-year contract starting in July. Auditionees would need to bring a photo, CV and sheet music for "one up tempo pop song".

Based on the film of the same name, Priscilla Queen of the Desert features pop songs including "It's Raining Men", "Say A Little Prayer" and "Hot Stuff", and follows three friends travelling across Australia in a bus.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert runs at Manchester Opera House from 14-29 August 2015, Sunderland Empire (31 August-5 September), Mayflower Theatre Southampton (14-19 September), Regent Theatre Stoke (21-26 September), Theatre Royal Brighton (2-7 November), Congress Theatre Eastbourne (14-19 March 2016), Marlowe Theatre Canterbury (21-26 March), Kings Theatre Glasgow (29 March-2 April) and Torquay Princess Theatre (11-16 April).
