From Canada to England en route for Monte Carlo. What else could it be but the new musical about Michael Jackson, from his childhood and the Jackson Five to the peak of his adult success? The Man in the Mirror is at the Norwich Theatre Royal from 3 to 7 August after premiering in Canada, at the Niagara Fallsview Theatre.

Norwich is bidding to become the UK’s next City of Culture. The spectacular show features a large cast of American performers and what promises to be innovatory multi-media displays and choreography. That it is visiting only Norwich and Leeds during the UK leg of a world tour is seen as an acknowledgment of the importance of Norfolk’s county town in international as well as regional and national entertainment terms.

The 2010 Norfolk and Norwich Festival, which draws to its successful close this Saturday (22 May), has seen a galaxy of new and established artists across a wide range of musical, theatrical and artistic disciplines drawing audiences indoors and outside, both in established venues and quite a number of special and unusual ones.
