The Sam Wanamaker Playhouse will feature a new collaboration between Shakespeare's Globe and the Royal Opera House in its new season.

Luigi Rossi's Orpheus will see early music specialist Christian Curnyn return to conduct the Orchestra of Early Opera Company. Keith Warner's production will run from 23 October to 15 November, with soprano Mary Bevan in the title role.

The production comes following the first collaboration between the two venues, L'Ormindo, which ran last year.

From 22 October to 8 November will be a revival of Jessica Swale's Thomas Tallis, the specially commissioned production exploring the life and work of the British composer which first ran in 2014.

Next in the season will be English Touring Theatre and Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse's production of The Odyssey: Missing Presumed Dead, running from 3-14 November.

The modern retelling of Homer's epic sees author Simon Armitage reunited with director Nick Bagnall following The Last Days of Troy.

The final production of the season is Derek Walcott's adaptationg of his Nobel Prize-winning poem Omeros, directed by Bill Buckhurst. It returns to the Playhouse from 26 to 31 October, following four performances last year.
