Some late additions to the Fringe line-up!
New Fringe venue Shedinburgh has announced a fresh set of shows to run in August at its Edinburgh College of Art home.
New work from Rosie Holt and Adam Smith will be joined by two Shed Originals from Joanne Thomson and Tia-Renee Mullings.
Political comedian and internet sensation Holt’s new play, currently untitled, will be performed on Thursday 21 August at 6pm. It follows Britain’s first female chancellor who wants to remove an old urinal in her private bathroom, only to find that the urinal once belonged to Winston Churchill and the nation refuses to let it go.
Adam Smith’s The Chemical Years, supported by Complicité, takes place on Saturday 23 August at 8pm. It is described as a work-in-progress combining sound, image and performance, reflecting on creativity, connection and chaos.
Two new Shed Originals also join the programme. Joanne Thomson’s Jack in a Box, directed by Katherine Nesbitt, will be staged on Saturday 9 August at 6pm. It centres on Kingmead Police Department when they receive a severed signal in a box and must confront their idea of justice.
Tia-Renee Mullings’ A to B, directed by Roy Alexander Weise, follows Amani and Brianna as they get ready for a blind date while dealing with family, food and haircuts. It will be shown on Saturday 23 August at 6pm.
Shedinburgh Fringe Festival includes Shed Shows, Shed Originals, ShedX Talks and late-night live music. It does not receive public funding and relies on donations through its Shed Friends and Shed Supporters schemes. The festival’s founding supporter is Jessica Foung.
