While Oliver! becomes a box office smash at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle and had added an extra matiness, due to public demand, there is to be another change. Neil Morrissey will play the role of ‘Fagin’ for the final week of the Newcastle run (Monday 29 – Saturday 3 November). Brian Conley’s final performance in the role will be on Saturday 27 October.

Neil Morrissey played ‘Fagin’ when this tour opened in Cardiff in December 2011. He also played the part in Manchester and Birmingham, sharing the run with Brian Conley. Morrissey was due to return to the role after the Newcastle run, but now takes over for the final week.

Neil is probably best known as ‘Tony’ in the hugely successful TV series “Men Behaving Badly”. His other TV credits include “Waterloo Road”, “Skins”, “Paradise Heights” and “Carrie and Barry”. No stranger to the stage, Neil’s West End theatre credits include Victoria Wood’s “Acorn Antiques”, ‘Nathan Detroit’ in “Guys and Dolls” and “A Passionate Woman”. His film credits include “Up ‘n’ Under”.
