The award-winning production will close on 27 February
Cameron Mackintosh has announced the "final extension" for his WhatsOnStage Award-winning production of Miss Saigon; it will close at the Prince Edward Theatre on 27 February 2016.
Mackintosh said: "I'm delighted to announce a final extension of my hugely successful new production of Miss Saigon at the Prince Edward Theatre. This record-breaking and award-winning production is already repeating its success in Japan and Korea and is planned to open in Germany, Australia and Broadway in the next two years."
He confirmed that the production's original stars Eva Noblezada and Jon Jon Briones will continue to lead the company.
This new production of Miss Saigon opened in May 2014 and went on to sweep the board at the 2015 WhatsOnStage Awards, winning a record-breaking nine awards including Best West End Show.
Boublil and Schönberg's musical tells the tragic tale of young bar girl Kim, orphaned by the Vietnam war, who falls in love with an American GI called Chris – but their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon.
The cast also currently features Chris Peluso as Chris, Siobhan Dillon as Ellen, Hugh Maynard as John, Sangwoong Jo as Thuy and Natalie Mendoza as Gigi.
Disney's Aladdin is rumoured to be following Miss Saigon into the Prince Edward.
