Three sheep will appear on stage during the new opera ”The Exterminating Angel”
We headed to the Royal Opera House as its three latest cast members were delivered to the theatre.
Thomas Adès' The Exterminating Angel is based on Luis Buñuel's surrealist film which sees a group of people attend a dinner after an opera, but realise they are unable to leave. As the dinner goes on, the night descends into anarchy with a herd of sheep and a bear arriving on the scene.
Sheila, Rosemary and Thyme are the three Romney sheep animal handler Kay Weston handpicked to appear in the production.
The 1962 film made the most of a real-life bear, but director Tom Cairns has utilised a lifelike costume for dancer Gareth Mole and choreographer Amir Hosseinpour to bring to life.
The Exterminating Angel runs at the Royal Opera House from 24 April to 8 May.
