Maureen Lipman will join James Dreyfus in the cast of Harvey, which opens at Birmingham Repertory Theatre in February prior to a UK tour and West End run.

Lipman, whose stage credits include Daytona, When We Are Married and A Little Night Music, will play Veta, who tries to get her brother, Elwood P. Dowd played by James Dreyfus, committed rather than risk the family’s reputation.

Mary Chase's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy tells the story of Elwood P. Dowd who has an unwavering friendship with a six-foot tall, invisible rabbit named Harvey.

Lindsay Posner's production runs at Birmingham Repertory Theatre from 6-21 February 2015 before touring to Malvern Theatres (24-28 February), Richmond Theatre (3-7 March) and Brighton Theatre Royal (17-21 March).
