He won’t let them steal your horses!

Exclusive: The Royal Shakespeare Company has released photos of Jon Robyns as the fearsome tyrant Miss Trunchbull in Matilda The Musical.
Now entering its 15th year in London, this August the show became the tenth longest-running production in the West End. Matilda The Musical continues to play at the Cambridge Theatre, where it is booking through to May 2026.
It has been seen by 12 million people across 100 cities worldwide and will embark on a major UK and Ireland tour, opening at Leicester Curve on 6 October 2025. The cast for the tour was revealed recently.
In London, from tonight (9 September), Robyns will take on the role of Miss Trunchbull – and new photos of the stage star in the iconic outfit have been released.
Playing the title role of Matilda, Edie McCaig and Emilia Shefford will join existing performers Suki Hillier and Mia Rogers.

Other young performers joining the company in the roles of Bruce, Lavender, Nigel, and the rest of the pupils at Crunchem Hall are: Sid Boyle, Ava Evangelista, Freya Fulford, John Johnson, Theo Kamande, Kanaho Kurihara, Albie Lambert, Kennedy-May Mcleary, Savannah McDowell, Mason Mingle, Lola Smith, Huxley Syers, Orla Vellacott and Jihyun Yoon.
They join the existing young cast: Alexander Beaumont, William Gurney, Chase King, Reuben Laming, Maxwell McGetrick, Theo Oh, Drew Reilly, Harry Relf, Isabella Rummery, Khit Thakin and Aisha Ugurhan.
The current adult cast includes Tiffany Graves (Mrs Wormwood), Neil McDermott (Mr Wormwood) and Eve Norris (Miss Honey). The cast is completed by existing ensemble members Reece Budin, William Elijah-Lewis, Alex Louize Bird and Dawn Williams, who will be joined by Kofi Aidoo-Appiah, Naomi Alade, Katie Bradley, Millie Brown-Thornton, Antony Lawrence, Nick Len, Tania Mathurin, Ben Middleton, James Oliver, Stuart Rouse, Chloe Saunders and Callum Train
Matilda The Musical is written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin, and developed and directed by Matthew Warchus. The production is designed by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker, and special effects and illusions by Paul Kieve.
