Oladipo Agboluaje’s new political family drama The Adeyemis – A Family Saga will receive its world premiere in the Dorfman Theatre in winter 2027.
Lucian Msamati will make his National Theatre directing debut with the staging, while Uzo Aduba will star as Helen, marking her debut performance at the venue.
Drawing on Agboluaje’s 1997 work Iya-Ile – The First Wife, the new play expands the original narrative to follow the fortunes of a wealthy family during a turbulent era in Nigeria’s recent history.
Further details regarding the artistic team, complete casting, specific performance dates and ticket on-sale schedules will be announced in due course.
