The beloved fundraiser show returns

Park Theatre has announced further details of Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 4, the latest instalment of its fundraising comedy event, returning from 11 May to 27 June 2026.
Set in the Wild West town of Graveside, the production will see the entire venue transformed into an immersive environment, extending from the street outside through the foyers, bars and auditoria.
Each performance will feature a different celebrity guest taking on the central role of Sheriff without rehearsal, performing with the aid of an earpiece delivering lines live during the show. Ian McKellen will also return to provide voice work across the production.
Seven guest sheriffs have been confirmed, all reprising appearances from previous editions of the show. They are Gillian Anderson, Emma Thompson, Adrian Dunbar, Jim Broadbent, Sandi Toksvig, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Hugh Bonneville, with further casting to be announced.
They will appear alongside a supporting cast including Toby Baddeley as Buck Steed, Caroline Deverill as Dawn Frencham, Gabriel Fogarty-Graveson as Jim Ranson, Iona Fraser as Verity Hargreaves, Edward Kaye as James Early, Matthew Romain as Rev Virgil and Susanna Wolff as Meg Frencham.
The event serves as a fundraising initiative for Park Theatre, which operates without regular public subsidy. Income from the run will support the theatre’s building costs, new writing development and community and education activity.
For the 2026 edition, audiences will enter Graveside upon arrival, with the exterior of the theatre redesigned as a Western streetscape. The venue’s bar levels will feature themed decoration including hay bales and barrels. Park90 will become The Last Chance Saloon, accessible to cabaret seating and Band A+ ticket holders, offering themed food and drink, live performance and interactive elements.
A community chorus will perform throughout the building, interacting with audiences and staging scenes across public areas. Attendees will be encouraged to arrive early and dress in costume, with a dressing-up station and photo booth available. Front of house teams will also be in character.
In the Park200 auditorium, a house band featuring piano, banjo, fiddle and percussion will perform a pre-show set. Some seating will be removed to allow for cabaret-style tables, and the production will involve audience interaction throughout, including opportunities for ticket holders to take part in onstage bartender roles.
The show will feature music and audience participation, alongside a themed food and drink selection.
