Gillian Anderson, Jim Broadbent, Ian McKellen, Judi Dench, Damian Lewis and more to star in Whodunnit [Unrehearsed]

An all-star cast has been revealed for the upcoming production of Whodunnit [Unrehearsed].

The play will be narrated by the voices of Ian McKellen and Judi Dench, and each night a performer will step in to play the Inspector, without ever having seen the script. The murder mystery spoof is set in an isolated manor and the inspector has to solve the crime in real time.

Actors who will appear in the piece include: Clive Anderson, Gillian Anderson, John Bishop, Gyles Brandreth, Marcus Brigstocke, Jim Broadbent, Simon Callow, Ronan Keating, Damian Lewis, Maureen Lipman, Joanna Lumley, Juliet Stevenson, Meera Syal, Catherine Tate, Tim Vine and Ruby Wax. They will all have their lines fed to them live on stage via an earpiece as they attempt to crack the case.

Newly announced are Adam Hills, Jason Manford, Neil Morrissey, Clarke Peters and Sandi Toksvig, who will all take part, as well as the voice of Miriam Margolyes.

Gillian Anderson said: "I'm performing at Park Theatre to help raise funds for the charity. With no public subsidy, they need to fundraise over £250,000 a year just to keep the doors open."

"The monies raised from this production's higher ticket prices will support their core ambition to present accessible theatre over the coming years and to further their work with the local community. A number of £10 day tickets will also be available. I do hope people will come and enjoy, and reap the benefit of supporting this fantastic cause."

The actors are donating their time in order to raise money for the theatre. Audiences will only discover which star will be at each performance when they appear onstage.

After its initial run at the Park Theatre from 15 to 27 July, the show will run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from 31 July to 27 August.
