The West End cast of Les Miserables were in the TV studio yesterday (7 December), singing alongside Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle for her forthcoming ITV Christmas special.
The song (no prizes for guessing what they sang!) was recorded for I Dreamed a Dream – The Susan Boyle Story, which airs this Sunday (13 December) at 9.30pm on ITV1. An insider told Whatsonstage.com: “SuBo was genuinely moved and teary when she saw the full cast in the studio … It is going to be a great TV moment.”
Since her appearance on Britain’s Got Talent, 48-year-old Boyle has achieved unprecedented global success. Her album I Dreamed a Dream is currently number one after it became the best-selling debut in UK chart history.
Les Miserables is the West End’s longest-running musical, having played 7,602 performances at the Palace Theatre before transferring to the Queen’s Theatre in 2004. The current cast features Simon Bowman, Hans-Peter Janssens, Rebecca Seale, Martin Ball, Alistair Brammer, David Thaxton, Emily Bull and Nancy Sullivan.
