It’s about Churchill’s urinal!

Extra shows have been revealed to join King’s Head Theatre’s spring 2026 season.
Joining the line-up of already revealed productions is a new satirical play from Rosie Holt, with additional material from comedian Stewart Lee. Churchill’s Urinal stars Holt as a female Chancellor of the Exchequer determined to get rid of the urinal in her new office’s en-suite. It plays from 13 May to 6 June.
More comedy comes from Avalon, who will present a series of work-in-progress shows from Huge Davies (1 April) and Rob Auton (2 April), with more comics to be announced. Additionally, Luisa Omielan’s God Is A Woman: The Musical has added extra dates due to demand. Loose Threads (20 March), a comedy-drama by Malachy O’Callaghan, centres around a cloakroom attendant at a nightclub and the chaotic lives of those around him.
In the summer, the new queer musical May Day by Sam Woof will play from 17 to 21 June. The modern fairytale is developed from interviews with queer and trans communities.
Two new plays, The Sequel by Lucas Closs and Rowling In It by Laura K Bailey, will be staged earlier in the year. The first is a dark comedy-drama directed by Imy Wyatt Corner, it follows an author who returns to her hometown to discover it now has a museum and gift shop dedicated to her and her novel. Meanwhile, Bailey explores her experience of playing JK Rowling in a controversial Edinburgh Festival Fringe show. Directed by Dominic Shaw, it runs from 6 to 18 April.
Sofi Berenger, executive producer and CEO of King’s Head Theatre, said: “We’re incredibly proud to be championing so many brilliant female and funny voices in this season, alongside artists who are using comedy and satire to take on big political and social ideas. These shows are sharp, provocative, joyful and unafraid. Work that will make you laugh first and think later (or sometimes both at once). They are welcome additions to our season, it’s going to be full of bold storytelling and we can’t wait to share it.”
