“The acting and directing is of the highest quality. The raw emotions displayed by each character are completely convincing. This is contemporary drama at its very best.”
This a new breed of Thriller. A straight play that smashes the fourth wall. Still a thriller you say? Of course, I say. Five hundred years ago Shakespeare smashed that ol’ fourth wall every time with any number of his plays – what are those soliloquies for? Shakespeare, probably the best Thriller writer in the world. Ever. Five hundred years later The Cage is bringing it back. The thriller has come home.
So – welcome to The Cage. When you walk into the auditorium be prepared anything to happen. You won’t guess the ending – because unlike normal thrillers this one goes a stage further, it’s uniqueness determined by the group psychology of the audience, which changes – rather like life – every day.
And a word to latecomers – as I’ve said before, we love you – but be careful to make assumptions if you’ve missed the first ten minutes.(like missing the first ten years of your life – not a helpful situation.) And if you are going to be late, feel free to bring us a present.
Ciao.
