Bonneville played the role of Tony in the original 1993 production of Beautiful Thing on the Bush Theatre tour, taking over the part originated by Philip Glenister.

The actor – then credited as Richard Bonneville – went on to co-produce the play’s West End transfer at the Duke of York’s with ATG’s Howard Panter.

Beautiful Thing was nominated for the Best Comedy Olivier Award and won a John Whiting Award.

The recent revival was produced to coincide with the play’s 20th anniversary. Directed by Nikolai Foster, it starred Suranne Jones, Zaraah Abrahams and Oliver Farnworth.

Beautiful Thing is available to download from Digital Theatre now.
