Full casting has been set for Invasive Species.

The Off-Broadway hit, written by and starring Maia Novi, follows the true story of an Argentinian actress committed to a youth psychiatric ward, who will stop at nothing to achieve her dream of being in American movies.

It will receive its UK premiere at King’s Head Theatre, playing from 3 September to 3 October. Find out more about the season.

The semi-autobiographical piece will be directed by Michael Breslin and see Novi reprise the lead role.

Also in the cast are Harrison Osterfield, Ella Blackburn, Max Percy and Kalifa Taylor.

Breslin commented: “After a thrilling run in New York last summer, I am excited for London audiences to experience Maia’s hilarious and moving play. I am also excited to welcome a new company of brilliant UK actors into the whip smart, electric, and heartfelt world of Invasive Species.”

Producers Eric Kuhn and Adam Rodner have also announced new co-producers on board, including Lucy Moss, Salem Productions, John Voege, Amauta M Firmino and Maria Ines Olmedo. The show is general managed and executive produced by James Quaife.

Kuhn said: “Invasive Species was created by a group of New York’s most dynamic and innovative theatrical artists who are actively defining contemporary American theatre. We are thrilled to bring this groundbreaking production to the UK with a brilliant new cast, and we can’t wait for London audiences to experience this visionary show after its triumphant run Off-Broadway.”

Completing the creative team are dramaturg Amauta M Firmino, UK set designer and costume supervisor Damien Stanton, UK associate lighting designer Ben Jacobs, UK associate sound designer Dominic Brennan, casting director Sarah-Jane Price, and production manager Carrie Croft.
