A WhatsOnStage Award winner made a return trip to the underworld last night!

Grace Hodgett-Young, who originated the role of Eurydice in the West End in 2024, reprised the role last night at the Lyric Theatre, according to posts on her Instagram.

Hodgett-Young picked up the WhatsOnStage Award for her professional debut as Betty Schaefer in Sunset Boulevard. She departed Hadestown in August 2024 to reprise her role in Sunset on Broadway.

Ryesha Higgs, who has recently left the West End production of Hercules to start rehearsals for the world premiere of The Greatest Showman, also returned to the show.

They both performed alongside Sebastian Lim-Seet, who is the first cover Orpheus.

The production usually stars Desmonda Cathabel as Eurydice, Chris Jarman as Hades, and Dylan Wood as Orpheus. Broadway star Daniel Breaker recently took over the role of Hermes from Cedric Neal, while Nicola Roberts is currently playing the role of Persephone until 18 January.

You can hear Hodgett-Young as part of the West End original cast on the live cast recording.

A filmed production of Hadestown with the show’s original Broadway cast was recorded last year and we are awaiting details about its release.
