Chichester has also announced cast joining Richard Wilson in ”Forty Years On”
Full casting has been announced for Chichester Festival Theatre's productions of Caroline or Change and Forty Years On.
Joining Sharon D Clarke as Caroline Thibodeaux are Keisha Amponsa Banson (The Radio), Me’sha Bryan (The Washing Machine), Angela Caesar (The Moon), Alex Gaumond (Stuart Gellman), Nicola Hughes (Dotty Moffett), Teddy Kempner (Mr Stopnick), Beverley Klein (Grandma Gellman), Ako Mitchell (The Dryer/The Bus), Abiona Omonua (Emmie Thibodeaux), Gloria Onitiri (The Radio), Vincent Pirillo (Grandpa Gellman), Jennifer Saayeng (The Radio) and Lauren Ward (Rose Stopnick Gellman).
Tony Kushner and Jeanine Tesori's musical runs at the Minerva Theatre in May as part of Daniel Evans' first season as artistic director of Chichester Festival Theatre. The piece follows a black maid in Louisiana in the '60s as she helps to bring up the 8 year-old son of her employers. The show is directed by Michael Longhurst and runs from 6 May to 3 June.
Richard Wilson leads the cast as the Headmaster in Forty Years On. The cast joining him are Thomas Bird, Lucy Briers (Miss Nisbitt), Alan Cox (Franklin), Jenny Galloway (Matron), Michael Hamway, Joe Idris-Roberts, Danny Lee Wynter (Tempest), Michael Lin, Oliver Marshall, James McConville, Martin Sarreal and Silas Wyatt-Barke. Over 50 young local people will also make up the company.
Alan Bennett's play is set in a public school which is putting on an end of term play for parents. The show runs from 21 April to 20 May and is directed by Evans.
Caroline, or Change runs from 11 May to 3 June with previews from 6 May. Forty Years On runs from 26 April to 20 May with previews from 21 April.
