Ballet dancer Nancy Osbaldeston trained in Altrincham and she returns to the North West this week in the English National Ballet’s production of Sleeping Beauty which is at the Manchester Opera House. We found out her five reasons why you should go along.

1. Glorious Costumes
There’s tutus and tiaras galore in this quintessential ballet.

2. A Wicked Villain

Carrabosse, the evil fairy who casts his spell on the baby Aurora is the wickedest ballet villain around along with his bald-headed attendants.

3. The Music of the Night
The luxurious, instantly-recognisable Tchaikovsky music is enjoyable in its own right.

4. Familiar fairy tale characters
Look out for some well known fairy tale characters in Act 3- Little Red Riding Hood gets very lost!

5. Escapism
And you’ll get lost in another world as the talented dancers of English National Ballet bring this well-known fairytale to life.

English National Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty is at the Manchester Opera House from 28 November – 1 December.
