Edinburgh Fringe hit The Fitzrovia Radio Hour will play a West End season at the Ambassadors Theatre from 14 February to 6 March 2012.
The show, which celebrates “an age when radio was brand new and radio drama was stuffed with more stereotypes and cut‐glass accents than afternoon tea at Lords”, has previously been seen at Trafalgar Studios 2 and had a year-long residency in The Globe’s Underglobe space.
Written and performed by Jon Edgley Bond, Tom Mallaburn, Phil Mulryne, Martin Pengelly and Alex Ratcliffe, the troupe began in 2008, when founding members restaged vintage radio plays from America.
The current show features a range of “rip-roaring” tales including It Came From The Black Abyss, George Albion & the War of the Roses and Nazi Firemen in Westminster.
Directed by Phoebe Barran, the cast also includes Fiona Sheehan and Natalie Ball.
The Fitzrovia Radio Hour will play the Ambassadors on 14, 21 & 28 February and 6 March 2012 as part of a national tour.
