The adaptation of Rex Pickett’s novel will open at the St James Theatre in May
Casting has been announced for the European premiere of Rex Pickett's comedy Sideways – The Play, which opens at the St James Theatre in May.
Daniel Weyman ( The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby) will star as Miles with Simon Harrison (As You Like It, The Comedy Of Errors) as Jack, Ellie Piercy (Eventide, As You Like It) as Maya and Beth Cordingly (Love’s Sacrifice) as Terra.
The cast will be completed by Anne Kavanagh (Groupie, The Mousetrap) as Phyllis/Evelyn, Kirsten Hazel Smith (The Endings) as Rosie/Victoria and Daniel Barry as Chris/Daryl.
Perhaps best known for the Oscar-winning 2004 film adaptation starring Paul Giamatti, Pickett's play tells the story of two men in their forties who take a week-long road trip into the heart of wine country.
The production will be directed by David Grindley and is produced by Matt Chisling and Amy Anzel for Pinot Productions Limited.
Sideways – The Play runs at the St James Theatre from 26 May to 9 July.
