Exclusive: The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre has announced full casting and creative details for its upcoming production of Dracula, running from 11 September to 11 October 2025.

The company includes WhatsOnStage and Olivier Award nominee Mei Mac as Lucy, Jack Myers as Jonathan, Umi Myers as Mina, Phoebe Naughton as Van Helsing and ensemble, Macy Seelochan as Jo and ensemble, and B Terry as Renfield and ensemble. Casting is by Heather Basten.

The new production is written by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm and directed by Emma Baggott. Lloyd Malcolm, whose previous stage work includes Emilia, The Wasp, and Typical Girls, has reimagined Bram Stoker’s classic tale by placing female perspectives at its centre. Co-founder of the horror-focused theatre company Terrifying Women, she said today: “Horror has long been a genre I’ve loved and to be able to explore this classic story within the context of the scary times we’re living through has felt particularly important and exciting.”

Myers said Malcolm’s take adds new energy to the material, promising it “will excite (and frighten) new audiences as well as those who already love the horror genre.”

Joining the creative team are Grace Smart (set and costume design), Joshie Harriette (lighting design), Adam Cork (composer and sound design), Chi-San Howard (movement), John Bulleid and Gareth Kalyan (illusions), Bethan Clark (fight and intimacy direction), Annemette Verspeak (voice), Grainne Flynn (assistant direction), Louisa Smith (casting associate), and Joyce Lulendo (casting assistant).
