The brand new musical opens next month in Southampton
Full casting has been announced for the world premiere of the stage version of Billionaire Boy, which opens in Southampton next month as part of a UK tour.
Based on the hit novel by David Walliams, the new musical is adapted by Jon Brittain (Rotterdam) and has music by Miranda Cooper and Nick Coler in what will be their first musical. It is directed by Luke Sheppard (Spring Awakening) and follows a boy who becomes an overnight lucrative smash for a product he invents.
Cast in the production is Alex "Teddy" Clements (The Shadow Factory) as MD / ensemble, Ryan Heenan (Grease) as Joe Spud, Avita Jay (The Secret Garden) as Sapphire / Raj, Eleanor Kane (Fun Home) as Lauren, Lem Knights (The Hundred and One Dalmations) as Bob, Jared Leathwood (making his professional stage debut) as Dave Grubb, Natalie Morgan (Gala) as Sue Grubb, Daisy Noir (making her professional stage debut) as drummer / ensemble, Dean Nolan (Big Fish) as Len Spud and Sophia Nomvete (Miss Littlewood) as Bob's Mum (Gwen).
The production has musical supervision and co-orchestration by Ben Holder, set and costume design by Gabriella Slade, lighting design by Nic Farman, sound design by Paul Gatehouse, choreography by Tom Jackson Greaves and casting by Annelie Powell.
The show runs in Southampton until 6 January before touring to Salford, Coventry and Cardiff.
