Physical theatre performers Yorgos Karamalegos and Elinor Randle are reworking their first ever production – the eponymous Tmesis – for a national tour.
Karamalegos and Randle bring the production to the Unity at the end of the month under the new company name Tmesis Theatre having originally been called Momentum Theatre.
Karamalegos explains: “By choosing the name of our very first production, Tmesis, we think we have captured some elements of us as performers. Greek is my first language and tmesis means to cut and to join together. Eli and I are the two elements on stage that divide and merge throughout our performances.”
The dancing pair also said the decision to change the name was made to avoid any confusion with a Wakefield-based dance company with the same name.
Tmesis arrives to Liverpool’s Unity Theatre on 28-29 May as part of Physical Fest 09. To book tickets visit here
