The UK premiere of the play opens at the Richmond venue in January
Casting has been announced for Winter Solstice which receives its UK premiere at the Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond.
Roland Schimmelpfennig's play, translated by David Tushingham, is a dark comedy examining the effect of a politically extreme stranger on a left wing middle class family Christmas.
The cast will comprise of Nicholas Le Prevost (How The Other Half Loves in the West End), Kate Fahy (the original UK production of The Goat or Who Is Sylvia? at the Almeida and in the West End), Dominic Rowan (Stepping Out on tour, The Village Bike at the Royal Court), Laura Rogers (Private Lives on tour, Tipping The Velvet at the Lyric Hammersmith) and Milo Twomey (Mary Poppins on tour, Dandy in the Underworld).
Schimmelpfennig is the most performed modern playwright in his native Germany. Winter Solstice is co-produced by Actors Touring Company and the Orange Tree, and will be directed by ATC's artistic director Ramin Gray with design by Lizzie Clachan.
Winter Solstice runs at Orange Tree Theatre, Richmond from 18 January to 11 February 2017, with previews from 12 January.
