William Golding’s well-known novel takes over the south England venue this September

Chichester Festival Theatre has announced the full cast for Lord of the Flies.
Directed by Anthony Lau, Nigel Williams’s stage adaptation of William Golding’s novel runs from 19 September to 11 October, with a press night on 25 September.
The cast includes Hiroki Berrecloth as Maurice, Sheyi Cole as Ralph, Ali Hadji-Heshmati as Simon, Bertie Hawes as Eric, Alfie Jallow as Piggy, Cal O’Driscoll as Roger, Nevil Patel as Henry, Ruben Reuter as Perceval, Ethan Rouse as Sam, Jonathan Savage as Parachutist/Naval Officer, Tucker St Ivany as Jack and Riley Woodford as Bill.
Set on a desert island after a plane crash, the story follows a group of young survivors whose fragile social order begins to unravel. Ralph and Piggy’s attempts to maintain structure clash with Jack’s emerging leadership, and the group’s unity gives way to conflict as survival instincts take hold.
Lau’s previous credits include The Crucible, Miss Saigon, Rock/Paper/Scissors and The Good Person of Szechwan at Sheffield Theatres, where he was Associate Artistic Director. He will direct Man and Boy at the National Theatre in 2026.
The creative team features designer Georgia Lowe, lighting designer Matt Daw, music and sound designer Giles Thomas, movement director Aline David, musical director Chris Poon, fight and intimacy director Bethan Clark and casting director Jacob Sparrow.
