The venue will present ”The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and ”King Arthur” at The Scoop
Casting has been announced for this year's Free Open Air Theatre season at The Scoop, which begins in August.
The company will play across both shows, Frank L Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Sir Thomas Malory's King Arthur. Adrian Decosta will play Arthur in King Arthur and Tin Man in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz while Emma Hoey will play Dorothy in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and Gawynn in King Arthur. They are joined by Sarah Agha, Siobhan Cha , Hadley Smith, Tom Gordon, Henry Wyrley-Birch, Eva Fontaine, and PK Taylor, who performed in The Odyssey for London's Free Open Air Theatre last summer.
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and King Arthur run from 8 August to 2 September, with both productions are completely free of charge for punters, who can sit and watch them from the amphitheatre to the side of the Thames.
In recent years the outdoor theatre next to City Hall has presented a new Toyah Willcox rock musical called Crime and Punishment and a three-part production of the Greek epic The Odyssey.
