Timothy Sheader’s production came to the outdoor venue
Guests celebrated the opening night of The Turn of the Screw, which comes to the Regent's Park Open Air Theatre as part of their summer season.
Conducted by Toby Purser, directed by the venue's artistic director Timothy Sheader and designed by Soutra Gilmour, the production of Britten's opera, based on the Henry James novel of the same name, garnered a full five-star review from WhatsOnStage critic Mark Valencia.
In his review of the production, Valencia said the show was "revelatory", and that the 13 members of the ENO orchestra involved "delivered a first-night performance of scintillating precision".
WhatsOnStage recently went into rehearsals to see the production before it came to Regent's Park.
