The west London theatre will stage the world’s first theatre festival dedicated to fertility
A new festival of fertility is to be staged at the Bush Theatre in London in May.
The festival is being cited as the first ever festival on this topic and has been set up by Jessica Hepburn, who was executive director of the Lyric Hammersmith for ten years, and theatre producer Gabby Vautier.
The line up will include talks, visual arts, literature, theatre and film with over 150 artists, scientists and experts exploring fertility in the 21st century.
Included in the programme is Stacey Gregg's Choices, about two women facing challenges of reproductive choice, Eggsistentialism, by Joanne Ryan about a woman's quest to reproduce her genes and Aloe Aloe by Camilla Whitehill about making families today.
People taking part in the festival are Stella Duffy, playwright Vivienne Franzmann, actress Emma Cunniffe, playwrights Somalia Seaton and Satinder Chohan, actor and playwright Gareth Farr and director Matthew Dunster.
Fertility Fest 2018 will take place at Bush Theatre London from 8 to 13 May.
