New York theatre stars including Harvey Fierstein, Andrew Rannells, Laura Benanti, Roger Rees, Stephen Schwartz, Stephanie J Block, Sierra Boggess, Jeremy Jordan and Jonathan Groff have collaborated on an hilarious rebuttal to Russia's outlawing of 'gay propaganda'.

The 12-minute film imagines a scenario whereby the 'Russian Broadway' has been outlawed due to theatre being deemed 'homosexual propoganda'.

The film is part of a growing chorus of global protest against Vladimir Putin's legislation. In June last year, Russia's child protection law was amended with a clause covering "the propagandising of non-traditional sexual relations among minors".
