Marc Bannerman dramatically quit his new role as Gordon in the world premiere of forthcoming stage play Guilty Pleasures, saying: “It’s just too raunchy and risqué!”

He said of his decision to quit Guilty Pleasures, which follows the comedic misadventures of a hapless spa owner and his hilarious staff of fantasy men with their sizzling spa specials, “It is a rash decision, but it’s a decision that I’ve made and there’s no going back on it.”

The 37-year old former soap star added: “I wasn’t enjoying it and I don’t understand the genre. The role required so many different styles of acting and I just didn’t feel it was me.”

Guilty Pleasures begins on 18 April and tours nationally until 30 June with the tour stopping off a Darlington Civic Theatre 20 – 23 June.
