An Inspector Calls full casting announced for UK and US tour

Stephen Daldry’s production of JB Priestley’s thriller

Casting has been announced for the upcoming UK and US tour of Stephen Daldry's An Inspector Calls.

Liam Brennan is to play Inspector Goole, while Christine Kavanagh is Mrs Birling, Jeff Harmer is Mr Birling, Andrew Macklin is Gerald Croft, Lianne Harvey is Sheila Birling, Hamish Riddle is Eric Birling and Diana Payne-Myers as Edna. The cast is completed by Chris Barritt, Adam Collier, Chloe Orrock and Beth Tuckey.

The production opens at the York Theatre Royal on 14 September before heading to Cambridge Arts Theatre, New Wimbledon Theatre, Cheltenham Everyman Theatre and will then go to the US.

An Inspector Calls originally opened in 1992 at the National Theatre and has won 19 major awards including four Tony Awards and three Olivier Awards. It has played to over 4 million people worldwide.

Priestley's play is set at the end of the First World War and follows what happens when a mysterious inspector disturbs a dinner party at the home of the prosperous Birlings.
