All About Eve with Gillian Anderson and Lily James to be broadcast in cinemas through NT Live

The show, directed by Ivo van Hove, opens in the West End in early February

All About Eve, which opens in the West End next month, will be screened in cinemas across the UK and internationally on 11 April 2019 with National Theatre Live.

The piece, which is directed by Ivo van Hove and stars Gillian Anderson (The X Files) and Lily James (Cinderella) will run in 2500 venues across the world, including 700 cinemas. Anderson plays film star Margo Channing and James is her biggest fan Eve. The cast also includes Monica Dolan, Ian Drysdale, Tsion Habte, Jessie Mei Li, Julian Ovenden, Sheila Reid, Rhashan Stone, Stanley Townsend and Philip Voyzey.

The show is based on the iconic film of the same name as well as Mary Orr's play The Wisdom of Eve. It has set and lighting design from Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D'Huys and music from double Mercury Prize-winner PJ Harvey, alongside Tom Gibbons' sound design.

The piece will open on 2 February at the Noël Coward Theatre, where it runs until 11 May. Tickets for the stage production are on sale now.
