This revival of Mike Leigh’s classic play was first seen at Stratford East

Tamzin Outhwaite will lead a new tour of Abigail’s Party.
Directed by Nadia Fall, the revival was first staged at Stratford East in 2024, where it received a favourable review from our WhatsOnStage critic.
Outhwaite will reprise her role of Beverly in Mike Leigh’s cult classic. Abigail’s Party follows Beverly, who hosts a party with her husband Laurence for their new neighbours Angela and Tony, along with their next-door neighbour Susan. The seemingly ordinary gathering soon spirals into a night of inappropriate flirtation and marital conflicts, set against the backdrop of a 1970s suburban home.
The tour will open at Malvern Theatres from 6 June, before visiting Theatre Royal Bath, where it will have its national press night on 24 June. After that, it will play at Fareham Live, Brighton Theatre Royal, Curve, Leicester, Richmond Theatre and the Arts Theatre Cambridge.
The full cast and creative team for this new touring production will be announced soon.
