Maureen Lipman and artistic director Jez Bond were among those celebrating the opening of These Shining Lives, the inaugural production at the newly built Park Theatre, last night (15 May 2013).
Melanie Marnich‘s play follows a group of women working in a watch-making factory in 1920’s Chicago, with new worker Catherine (Charity Wakefield) finding herself an unlikely pioneer of women’s rights.
Directed by Loveday Ingram, the cast also includes Honeysuckle Weeks, Alec Newman and David Calvitto. It runs at the Park Theatre until 9 June.
Others joining cast members at the first-night party included actors Jonathan Wrather, Harry Shearer, John Bowe and Amy Nuttall.
