Regional Theatre Focus: Backstage at the Royal Exchange

Earlier this month we took a trip up to the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, where we were lucky enough to get a tour of the venue with company manager Lee Drinkwater and Head of Production Simon Curtis.

The largest theatre-in-the-round in the UK, the Royal Exchange theatre is housed within a Grade II listed building, seating up to 750 people on three levels.

Weighing in at 150 tonnes, the module is too heavy to sit directly on the floor and so is suspended from four huge columns.
