Tom Hiddleston has ignited speculation that he could be working on a new production of Betrayal, by Harold Pinter.

The star tweeted out a teaser film last night, which featured him and at the end the words "Betrayal". With his appearance at last month's Harold Pinter birthday gala, could this mean he will be starring in a new production of Pinter's piece?

Tom Hiddleston's tweet

Betrayal is about two married couples' infidelity and was written in 1978. It is not known whether the trailer relates to a screen project or a stage project, or any more details. It is only the second time Hiddleston has tweeted this year. Jamie Lloyd is currently directing a season of all of Pinter's works at the Harold Pinter Theatre, which features a cast including Martin Freeman, Tamsin Greig, Lee Evans, Meera Syal and many more.

The news has since been confirmed with dates and venue announced.
